The virtual fitting room we created for Timberland allows shoppers to try on clothes and create stylish outfits from the retailer’s newest collection without ever setting foot in the store.

Using Kinect technology, the device captures an image and follows a person’s movements, analyzing everything in real-time, until it finds a good model match in the system. Now, the shopper can easily change outfits—jackets, jumpers, trousers, and shoes—using simple gestures to control the image on an 80-inch screen.

When the shopper is finished, they can choose to receive an image of the new outfit by email, and they can add it to the Timberland fan page gallery. A link in the email also lets shoppers share the outfit on Facebook.
